MP Rick Perkins tours the Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus
Rick Perkins, Member of Parliament and Shadow Minister for Science, Innovation and Industry, visited the Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus (SRIC) to learn more about how this new landmark building will advance innovation in Canada and the Greater Toronto Area. SRIC will facilitate greater collaboration within and among life sciences, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurs in those sectors. The first building in the campus will open later this fall thanks to an historic gift from Gerald Schwartz and Heather Reisman.
MP Perkins represents the riding of South Shore-St. Margarets, Nova Scotia, and is Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology.
The first building to open this year will provide 250,000 square feet of space and house the Vector Institute of Artificial Intelligence, the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society, and the University of Toronto Entrepreneurship and Innovations & Partnerships Office, as well as Ontario startup companies.
In addition, the space will be home to fabrication labs, conference, meeting spaces and wellbeing and leisure spaces including outdoor spaces throughout the building.
