The University of Toronto’s Innovation Infrastructure in Focus

Infrastructure that enables innovation at the University of Toronto and in the region was in focus on June 18 as Leah Cowen, Vice-President, Research and Innovation, and Strategic Initiatives, spoke to the Toronto Region Board of Trade about the university’s new research and innovation facilities. Her presentation highlighted how strategic co-location of academic researchers, innovators and industry partners has catalyzed entrepreneurship in advanced sectors such as artificial intelligence and life sciences. New infrastructure projects at the university will strengthen leadership in accelerated materials discovery, enhance lab space for the region’s bioinnovation startups and provide access to state-of-the-art health care for more people across Ontario.
